These ancient bristlecone pine trees, some over 8,000 years old, are at 10,200' altitude. The weather was cold and overcast at sunset and I didn't get many really good shots of the trees. (There's always next time!) But just as I was packing it in, this beautiful red glow appeared on the horizon looking west. I was amazed by it's simplicity and remains one of my favorite shots of my entire trip.
